Statement of faith

THE TRINITY

I believe God is three-in-one; God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. They are not a part of God but they are all three God, equal in every way.  (Matthew 28:18-19, Isaiah 48:17, Matthew 3:16-17, 2 Corinthians 13:14, John 15:26, Ephesians 2:18)

GOD THE FATHER

I  believe God our father created all people in His image. He desires to fellowship with us. He is sovereign, just, holy, gracious, and merciful. He is all-knowing and omnipresent. (Psalm 103:2-8, Isaiah 43:7, Jeremiah 29:11-13, John 10:29-30, Exodus 3:14, Genesis 1:26-27, Deuteronomy 32:3-4, Romans 8:29, Nehemiah 9:6, Genesis 1:26-27, and pretty much all of Psalms)

GOD THE SON/JESUS CHRIST

I believe that Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and life. He was born of a virgin, led a sinless life, and died on the cross to pay for the sins of all humanity. Jesus rose from the dead and sits at the right hand of Father God. There is only one way to Heaven and that is through accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior; knowing who He is isn't enough. One day, Jesus will return to claim his beloved people and every knee will bow in acknowledgment that Jesus is Lord. (John 14:6, Romans 4:25, Matthew 1:18, 1 John 3:5, 1 Timothy 3:16, John 10:30, Isaiah 9:6, Philippians 2:10-11, Romans 8:34, Isaiah 61:1, Isaiah 11:2)

GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT

I believe that Holy Spirit breathes new life into all believers and lives in them. The Holy Spirit speaks truth into our lives, teaches us, convicts us of our sins, helps and guides us. I believe the Holy Spirit will never leave us. He is a gentleman who must be invited into every area of our lives. I believe it is a terrible thing to ignore him. (John 14:16-17, John 3:6, 2 Samuel 10:9, Ezekiel 2:2, Ezekiel 36:27, 1 Corinthians 12:1-11, 2 Corinthians 1:22, pretty much all of Acts)

SALVATION

Because Jesus died on the cross in our place, the only way to be saved is to cry out to God. Salvation cannot be bought or earned because it is free. Salvation is offered to everyone regardless of how deep and dark their sins are. We are given free will to accept the gift of salvation. (Ephesians 2:8-9, John 3:16, Romans 3:23, Romans 5:8-9, Romans 6:23, Romans 8:1-3, 1 Peter 3:18)

SANCTIFICATION/TRANSFORMATION PROCESS

I believe that sin separates us from God. Once we are saved, the holy sanctification process begins. We cannot sanctify ourselves.(Romans 8:12-14, John 14:6, Acts 2:28, Leviticus 20:8, Ephesians 1:7, Ephesians 1:6-8, Acts 26:18, Romans 3:23-24, Exodus 33:16, 1 Corinthians 6:11)

THE BIBLE

I believe the Bible is the living, breathing Word of God. It is our user manual here on earth and our compass of truth. The Bible is a gift and reading it is a privilege. The Bible never contradicts itself and its wisdom and understanding are shut off from unbelievers. (2 Timothy 3:16-17, Proverbs 119:10-11, Mark 13:31, Isaiah 40:8, Psalm 119:130, 2 Corinthians 4:4, Hebrews 4:12, 2 Peter 1:20-21)

OUR CHRISTIAN WALK

I believe that we are all responsible for our Christian walk. The choices we make are ours to own and we will answer for them one day. I believe it is each person's responsibility to grow and mature in Christ by spending lots of time talking with God (prayer), reading His will (Bible), and blessing others by treating them as you want to be treated. (Matthew 28:19-20, Romans 12:2, Romans 14:17-19, John 15:12, Philippians 2:13-15, Ephesians 4:20-32, Luke 6:31, 1 Peter 3:8-12)
